The death toll in the St Jude storm has risen to four, in what is the worst storm to hit Britain in years.

One man and woman died when a tree collapsed on to their home causing a gas explosion. A 17 year old girl was killed when a tree fell on her caravan an another man died when his car was hit by a tree.

The storm first struck the West of England and Wales last night however did not spread north as expected.
