A brave firefighter has died during a major blaze in a retail property in the centre of Manchester.

He has been named as Firefighter Stephen Hunt aged 38.

He was a member of a team which responded to a fire at Paul’s Hair World in Oldham street

Stephen and another firefighter got in to difficulties and both were rescued by their colleges and taken to hospital.

Thoughts and prays go to all of those at Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, his family and friends at this very difficult time.
