Police Medical Assessment

Police Medical Assessment is an important stage of the police recruitment process.

It involves a Doctor from the occupational health unit carrying out a pre-appointment  medical examination of yourself.

The medical will determine if you are fit to undertake the fitness test and are suitable for pre-appointment to the role of a Police Constable.

The Medical will assess you for Alcohol so make sure you do not have a heavy night before the assessment.

They will also be looking for drugs misuse which can be traced back within the last 6 to 12 months.

During your Assessment they will be looking at the following requirements.

Height

Weight

Body Mass Index (BMI)

Blood Pressure

Eyesight

Hearing

Urine Test

Heart

Lungs

Colour Vision

Reflexes

Try not to worry about the medical assessment too much. If you are fit and healthy with no serious health concerns and you have not misused drugs you should pass the medical.
